My cousin's daughter would love those for her dress-up stash of clothes.
Em loves hats, and whenever I see her, she wants more crocheted hats. (she's 4) and I'm her only relative that crochets. I'll have to see if I can find that pattern now.
We've been picking on a lot of art pieces on this blog as of late... Some I must admit that I also hate. Some rock my socks.
These totally fall into the second catagory. I love these. They're magnificently well-made and the design blows my mind. I don't know if they're meant for children or if they're just meant as art, but either way I think they're great.
Can we go back to really, seriously ugly crap that's genuinely intended to be worn or used soon, please?
Actually, I don't think these are all that bad for kids to wear. And with Christmas pagent season coming they might make a nice chage from the cardboard and tinfoil ones they kids usually wear.
Why can't a pattern be art? Art or not art - that's what everybody has to decide for himself.
I like those crowns, too though I won't wear them at work, of course (rather give it to my boss with a big grin on my face).
I don't know if it's intended, but your blog is such a well of inspiration. Of course there is some ugly crap, but so many things you actually CAN crochet that I ask myself why there is no museum showing this artwork.
Sure, it can be art if you choose it to be....the seller of this particular pattern didn't intend it that way but there's no stopping anyone from interpreting things the way they want to.
Nice to hear the blog is inspirational too - why not? Some of the ugly crap you could even take and make better - that's inspiring.
Absolutely fabulous for the kiddy dress-up box, of course. My big problem would be resisting the temptation to wear my crocheted crown out to pick up the groceries. Tell me that wouldn't be a blast ... in an OMG whatz that woman been smoking?!? kind of way!
couldn't I swipe a crown from Burger King or do I have to ask for them now? It would be easier

Hmmm... a crocheted floppy strapped crown. How do I count the fug?
