Is it the Colour?

I dont know.

Maybe I'm completely out of the trendite life (hey - I work 280 km from the nearest town and even that aint so big!) but..

Somehow, this:

green crochet dress

Seems a bit wrong.

I know Babydoll is in, I know Minis are coming back but..

The colour is vaguely disconcerting and the neckline is sort of weird and you have to have thighs like a baby giraffe's to get away with the hemline.

Maybe another colour?  in cream maybe  it would look better??

I dont know!!!

  1. Well, I don't think it's a fug but I don't like it, either. The color doesn't suit it and it looks more like a nighty to me.

And, oh yeah, I'm around this model's age (early 20's), but I like the things I cover my crotch with to be up to the task even in a stiff breeze.

It's so short she looks almost like she's holding the front down, doesn't she?

  2. I would totally wear that - with a pair of jeans! She looks like she forgot to put pants on.

  3. The color is disturbing me but mostly its the fact that the mini is back at all. I am not a prude but I don't see any need to make or buy something that you can see your underwear when you sit down!

  4. I don't know that it's so bad. I think it's just the color. Maybe in a cream or shade of brown? And not as a dress, but worn as a shirt with a pair of nice blue jeans and it would be ok I think. As a shirt it would be cute even in this color. I just love your blog by the way. It always makes me smile!

  10. I like the color (my favorite color is green) I think she'd look better with a pair of pants or some jeans on or something tho...but the extrememly short dress would look better as a top.

In the picture where she's facing the camera, it looks like she's gotta go pee with her leg crossed in front like that.

  11. I agree that it would look better with jeans or leggings under. The color would look good with my daughter's red hair, but I don't think she would wear it.

  12. It would be a cute nightie or beach cover up or even a top...but not a dress....the color is wonky too

  13. By coincidence, I spent the last 2 days at the LA Fashion Mart as a buyer. I had a couple of vendors tell me that Kelly green is the next big color. I don't like it and I don't think it flatters most people. I wouldn't be surprised to see the color in stores, but I would be surprised if it sells well.

  14. Add 4 ( or more!) inches to the length, and do it in the color of your choice.

Flowing bell sleeves would help. Black or cream would be nice.

  15. I don't about you ladies, but the only thing I noticed is the length(or lack of it). It could nice as a baby doll top.

I think the continued use of skinny models still perpetuates a bad image to girls and women.

  16. It is not the color, it is fine. But it is not a good color for the
    model.

  17. I actually dig the color, it's not ridiculous if you wear it the right way. Bold bright colors are pretty in-style nowadays, anyhow. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be worn with leggings, and probably a slouchy belt for that whole "mod" look. it could stand to have a lower hemline, though.

  18. I am a big fan of the dress. Like the color (although it wouldn't look good on me) and think with a smart pair of leggings and a good pair of shoes it would look great. Sort of tempting to even give it a try, see how it turns out!

  19. I like the pattern though, where did you get this?
maybe i can try making it...

I live in a tropical country so, short dresses are okay.

  20. I'm in the "Not too bad with pants or leggings" camp. As a dress by itself it's just too short. Other than that I don't really see much wrong with it. the color would actually look pretty good on someone with the right coloring, but I agree this would be fantastic in cream or white, with brown or black pants or leggings and a belt.
