Tinsel Necklaces

Is it Christmas already? Geez, I thought it was! A necklace that resembles tinsel...oh ya, a definite must-have! A free pattern too for any of you who really like it! As the pattern says - "add a cooling touch to a hot outfit with this stylishly unique aquamarine necklace"...ha ha ha...LOL! "Cooling" touch to a "hot" outfit?! Such a wonderful play on words! :|
Thanks to Kathleen for pointing out this fug!

  1. I'd just add a sweaty neck to my "hot" outfit.

  3. Ooh yeah, baby---I can so see this outdoing my central air unit here at the house. NOT!

Seriously, any amount of humidity/perspiration (and we have a ton of BOTH around here every summer!) will make that thing look way beyond nasty in a heartbeat. What was that designer smoking to think of using that garbage on JEWELRY???

Ew ew ew ew ew. . .

  7. It must be a real pain in the ass to thread all those beads on fun fur.
Beads you can now barely see because of the fun fur.

  8. Looks like someone tried to crochet some barbed wire.

  10. I like the colors, the beads, and the pendant. That necklace could be kinda cool.

    If it weren't freaking FURRY.

The designer has just got to be kidding. I want to see that pattern. "Buy seven skeins of our fun fur to get all the colors you need, take ten inches of each and chain nine inches, then slip stitch back, alternating colors, then dangle some stuff off of it."

  12. god, does that even *count* as crochet?? i could tie some knots in eyelash yarn just to make the beads not fall all to the middle and get the same result. if by "cooling touch" they mean that every man would cool off to you due to the terrifying neon dead animal around your neck, i guess so. wow.

  14. If she is going to wear Christmas garland around her neck, she should at least use red and have a candy cane dangling on the end of it.

  15. Actually, all kidding aside, I LIKE IT!!

That "spikey" yarn is very soft - my sis has made a number of purses, hats & scarves with it! But yes, it does tend to be a bit warm... definitely NOT meant to be a warm-weather accessory! I can see this done in "seasonal colors" and worn over a turtleneck or whatever...

  16. This would be fine if it weren't for the fact that the yarn is going to mat before long. all of they eyelash stuff, except for the elf,. does mat and requires brushing.
