The perfect dress for when you never want to sit down or
bend over unless of course you are into flashing your bits.
Not to mention it looks like she threw on the front
door carpet you use to wipe your shoes on.
Thanks Leisel for submitting this one.
At first I thought it looked ok...and then I scrolled down! Maybe she lost everything at a poker game. It's amazing what they can do with a burlap sack nowdays. Maybe next someone can work on crocheting a barrel with straps.
ReplyDeleteIt would probably make an ok sweater to wear with jeans or a skirt...but as a dress it's lacking...a lot of length...
ReplyDeleteI am glad someone sent this to you.
ReplyDeleteI saw it and thought WHO THE BLAZES WOULD ACTUALLY WEAR THIS??? It wouldn't even be good for street walker shenanigans.
You know, it's really amazing what you can do with generic, household string, isn't it? I'm sorry to say that I actually work with a woman who would wear this. And she would bend over in it. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteAnd frankly, friends, I'm not at all certain about that colour on such a pale model. . .
ReplyDeleteHmm - looks like the material my cats' scratching posts are made from. Meow!
ReplyDeletePerhaps in another color with more length and without the collar? Say in black or purple, or shorter even with jeans and no collar-I just can't like the collar.
ReplyDeleteEvery time the first thing I think is... is this a joke? I can't imagine why some people think this is in any way okay. It's aran, tweed, and a grade B sci fi slutty alien movie costume.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. Imagine it in silver. With bolts instead of bobbles.
ugh. i just cannot find any redeeming qualities in this dress.
ReplyDeleteOy! If that dress was any shorter, we could see what she had for lunch. If she eats, I mean.
ReplyDeleteThe collar just looks like someone blew chunks on it.
Why was my last post in this discussion not approved? I do not appreciate being edited and denied the chance to voice my opinion just because it differs with the owners of this site. I happen to like this dress, and if you think it's too short, just make it longer, or wear it over pants or a long skirt. BTW, the yarn used does not look scratchy at all.
ReplyDeleteCry me a river Matthew.
ReplyDeleteThe responses are totally funny... keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, make it longer, a different color, get rid of the collar and make it a square neckline, add some 3/4 length sleeves and you would have ... well something completely different, but infinitely more wearable.
ReplyDeleteI don't know which is worse: this dress or the fact I can tell the yarn is probably Red Heart's Aran Fleck (yes, I've been using A LOT of Aran Fleck in some recent projects).
ReplyDeleteI can see this dress looking good in a different color, and a bit longer. It would look interesting in maybe a camoflauge type yarn. I can see this looking cute on my daughter. She would insist it would be long enough to go below the knees.
ReplyDeleteI'd always wondered what a Mennonite hooker would wear. Now I know.
ReplyDeleteI could see this in dark purple, with the collar section in lace instead of bobbles, and a matching stretch of lace extending the skirt. You'd still have the problem with keeping the top of the dress in place, but holding some clear elastic beading string together with the yarn could solve that. (Theoretically; I've never actually tried this.)
ReplyDeletejaja send it to britney spears..is ok for her..jajajajajaaaaa
ReplyDeleteWhat you call that swag thing on the shoulder it should be sewn to the bottom at the hem and possible double layers and make a little black dress with low-cuts at the back. Fix it please!
ReplyDeleteIt's not that bad, except it is way too short. I wouldn't wear it as a dress, but if you modified it into a sweater it would be fine. That or add a whole lot of length to the skirt part.
ReplyDeleteIn some ways its ok, and in some ways its horrible!!!
ReplyDeleteThe yarn is something I'd prefer to use for an afghan.
The shape - though it could be longer is ok - except for that collar/shawl thing
And the bobbles..
Well.. whomever thought up the bobbles needs to go back to their doctor and discuss a major rethink of their medication.
I think if you added some length to it it wouldn't be all that bad.
ReplyDeleteIf that collar were different it wouldn't be quiet so bad. maybe longer skirt.
ReplyDeleteI actually like this. Not sure if I would yse wrorsted weight though. Would have to look at it.
ReplyDeleteCora
Actually... I think this is kinda nice style if you make it in a different yarn and do away with the bobbles
