This thing is just plain wrong - so wrong. Just what sort of puke-y green colour is that anyways and why on earth would someone want some big huge "medallion" on their scarf?
Just where did the concept of appropriate width for scarves go? Seems her entire torso is covered by a scarf.
I think I'm going to hide now - this thing looks like it's about ready to engulf her head and I might be next.
Basically several doileys sewn together. Rather large and ugly doileys at that.
ReplyDeleteWhy did this poor, confused girl put her grandma's tablecloth from the early 70's around her neck like that?
ReplyDeletePS: You've probably seen, but just in case you haven't, the editors of You Knit What? have given up the ghost (or the blog, as the case may be) so it's up to you to give us our full fill of fiber fugliness!
ReplyDeleteThe colour is not only bad for the model's complexion. it's awful no matter WHO wears it! As for the design, it might work slightly better having gravitated a tad down to a hip, perhaps. . .
ReplyDeleteIf I had to put that thing around my neck, I'd pull the ends together and try to strangle myself.
ReplyDeleteI think she's stolen the decorative potholders from my childhood fridge! It was that exact shade of avacado and inexplicably matched nothing else in the kitchen. I've been wondering where those went.
ReplyDeletepffffffffffffffffffffft Good GOD! I am so glad I did not bring a drink up here, otherwise I'd spit it all over the computer.
ReplyDeleteI say TOP fug prize
When chair doilies attack!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh.......YUCK. Might have looked a wee bit better in thread and draped over the mantle, but it is too wide, too bulky and an ugly color for a scarf.
ReplyDeleteI laughed my head off when I saw this.. you find the funniest things.. thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteA good prop for Alice in Wonderland?
ReplyDeleteI think CombatGal hit this one on the nose. It would be the only way out!
ReplyDeleteThis has to be Annie's Attic...? As a scarf this one for sure has issues. There is no hope in fixing this one either by turning it into something else or using a different color.
ReplyDeleteJust plain bad. But having said that, someone somewhere is going to buy this pattern and make this scarf and thus embark on the great journey into crochet/knit that we all have and that is a good thing.
I booked over here to report this travesty and see that you all are waaaaaay ahead of
ReplyDeleteme!
Ever wonder what to do with ALL of those old doilies? I doubt the thought of tying them around your neck never once crossed your mind.
Is that a doile on her neck?

ReplyDeleteBack on topic: This green makes me feel sick. Why on earth would Lion Brand put this right at the top of their weekly email? Are they trying to drive customers away?!?!
HA! I just got this tonight and I went straight here thinking you guys had definitely butchered it!!!
ReplyDeleteAhhhggh! Help me! I'm having a seventies flashback! Doesn't anyone else see that nasty green thing is swallowing her? Oh that poor, sweet young thing. Do a little yarn modeling they said. It's easy money they said. But they never warned her about THIS!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was cut from my granny's old tablecloth...except granny had better taste than to ever use that color in her house, let alone on her person.
ReplyDeleteThat poor child! We must do something to convince her that life IS worth living--right away!
ReplyDeleteyou kill me, im laid out on my floor laughing!!!
ReplyDeletePAY ME TO WEAR THAT.
ReplyDeleteIt's that same puke green color that makes me think of my MIL's kitchen... all she needs is the burnt orange and neon yellow... add some color :O)
ReplyDeleteOoops! Hey, Coach! My shoulder pads have slipped again!
ReplyDeleteUm, yah, I made this. I tried to do it in purple and made it into a wrap instead, but it still didn't work. It looked like a tablecloth. Too bad I only realized this about a week later and had to re-make it into a ball of purple yarn.
ReplyDeletehee hee. Good design for hiding your head and face when everyone starts laughing at you, though.
ReplyDeleteI thought this was absolutely hideous when I first saw it...
ReplyDeleteI thought it would look pretty in a lighter thinner yarn, though. I ended up crocheting it in a snowy white yarn and it turned out a lot nicer than that.
I think it's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI don't even know what to say about this one. The color is awful, and the huge medallions are just way to big. This is just bad bad
